Kevin C. Coutant has led the Firm’s real estate practice for many years.  Over that time, Mr. Coutant has counseled with local, regional and national developers and lenders in connection with innumerable real estate and oil and gas transactions and projects.  An example of Mr. Coutant’s practice includes leading a team of legal professionals within the Firm who have closed hundreds of real estate acquisition transactions for a national telecommunications company.  Further, his background in zoning, planning and economic development has enabled him to provide valued representation in the creation of the two largest Tax Increment Finance Districts in northeast Oklahoma.  Other significant projects have included the representation of national lenders who loan money on Oklahoma real estate assets, the purchase and sale of significant oil and gas interests, zoning and development of numerous residential, retail and industrial project and the acquisition of economic development incentives from all levels of government. 

Mr. Coutant has been recognized by the profession as Best Lawyers® 2009 Tulsa Real Estate Lawyer of the Year and has served his profession as a lecturer at numerous seminars on real estate and commercial law topics.  He also has served as an adjunct professor at the University of Tulsa School of Law, teaching Real Estate Transactions. Mr. Coutant has been recognized by Super Lawyers in the areas of Real Estate, Land Use/Zoning, Energy & Natural Resources.

Mr. Coutant has served his community as a member of the Tulsa Metropolitan Area Planning Commission, a member of the Tulsa Preservation Commission, a member and chairman of the Tulsa Economic Development Commission, and more.
