Courtney L. Bru received her Doctor of Jurisprudence from the Vanderbilt University Law School . She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science, summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa, from Auburn University .
While at Vanderbilt, Ms. Bru was a member of the moot court board, through which she served as Associate Justice of the National First Amendment Competition held annually at the First Amendment Center in Nashville, Tennessee . Ms. Bru competed with the school's traveling mock trial team in the Texas Young Lawyer's Association's National Trial Competition. She received the Lightfoot, Franklin & White Best Oralist award for her participation in the first year moot court competition, and a Scholastic Excellence award for highest performance in Public Education Law.
Ms. Bru is licensed to practice in Georgia and Oklahoma . Prior to joining Doerner, Ms. Bru worked as an associate for one of the nation's largest employment and labor law firms, and represented employers in various matters arising under both state and federal law. Ms. Bru served as an attorney author for the 2006-2007 edition of The National Employer.
