Elise Brennan just completed her six-year term on the AHLA Board of Directors and has been appointed to the Advisory Board of the Journal of Health Law published by Saint Louis University School of Law's Center for Health Law Studies. Elise's most recent publication is a chapter on the use of Alternative Dispute Resolution in health care in the 2006 Health Law Handbook published by West.
(WASHINGTON, DC) Elise Dunitz Brennan, a partner in the law firm of Doerner, Saunders, Daniel & Anderson LLP in Tulsa, OK, recently began a third year of service on the Board of Directors of the American Health Lawyers Association (Health Lawyers). The association provides educational and professional development services for 9,500 healthcare attorneys. Ms. Brennan serves on two of Health Lawyers’ Board Committees. The Public Interest Committee oversees Health Lawyers’ activities to fulfill its commitment to serve as a public resource on healthcare legal issues. The Practice Group Committee oversees activities of fourteen Health Lawyers practice groups that provide professional development activities and networking opportunities for members who focus on specific areas of health law or work in special employment settings. Since 1991, Ms. Brennan has chaired Health Lawyers’ Alternative Dispute Resolution Task Force. The Association’s ADR service offers competent trained dispute mediators who arbitrate the healthcare field’s search for an alternative to the long delays and costs of litigation. She also has chaired the Association’s Credentialing & Peer Review Practice Group.
Ms. Brennan’s practice consists of representing hospitals, managed care organizations, ambulatory health care facilities, nursing homes, all types of behavioral and medical health care practitioners, and employer health plans. Ms. Brennan has been listed in each edition of The Best Lawyers in America since 1990.
Ms. Brennan received her B.A. from Tulane University, her M.S.W. from the University of Michigan, and her J.D. from Southern Methodist University.
