RÉSUMÉ OF DOERNER, SAUNDERS, DANIEL & ANDERSON, L.L.P.

2006 - 2007

Tracing our origins to pre-statehood, DSDA is one of the oldest law firms in the state of Oklahoma.  In 2006, our firm consists of forty-six attorneys.  The firm maintains offices in Tulsa and Oklahoma City.  Together, we engage in every major area of civil practice.

Our practice rests on a wide base of established corporate clients, and with each year comes a steady flow of new clients specially seeking the varied expertise of Doerner Saunders.  We represent a variety of large and small corporations, partnerships, trusts, estates, and individuals, including public utilities, cities and towns, commercial banks, savings and loan associations, manufacturing companies, insurance companies, hospitals and associated health care organizations, railroads, securities brokerage houses, charitable foundations, television stations, and mass media holding companies.  This wide-ranging representation in litigation and corporate finance affords great opportunity for diversity.  Our practice emphasizes the law fields of corporate planning, commercial, banking, real estate, construction law, finance, tax, antitrust, health care, bankruptcy, trademarks, trade secrets, labor and employment law, civil rights, insurance defense, oil and gas, securities, utilities, mass communications, workers compensation, and litigation in all fields except criminal law.

Our policy of steady but measured growth has enabled the firm to react to various economic cycles.  By general policy, we fill our full-time hiring needs from those directly out of law school or after judicial clerkships.

Each fall, our on-campus interviews reach law schools throughout the country.  For second year law students, we view our Summer Associate Program as a key means of mutual evaluation for full-time employment.  We take great care to assign work to our summer associates with this purpose in mind.

We search for people whose academic record and demonstrated motivation convince us that the individual has partnership potential.  Because of the unique conditions affecting the Southwest, our firm's clients have particularly diverse needs, not only regionally but nationally and internationally.  Essential to our practice, then, is for every new attorney to possess the kind of excellent analytical skills and considerable maturity necessary for direct client contact and major responsibility early in one's legal career.

During the fall of 2006, final consideration for partnership will go to associates who have completed seven calendar years' tenure with the firm.

Beginning associates who will start in 2006 will receive an annual salary of $80,000, plus an $8,000 association bonus, one-half payable upon acceptance and the balance due upon law school graduation.  The firm will also pay the cost of bar review study courses for new bar applicants.  Additional paid benefits include life, medical and disability insurance; a profit sharing retirement plan; parking fees; and various club dues.  Also, all attorneys receive a budget for continuing legal education.  Our 2L summer associates for 2006 will receive a salary of $1,550 per week.

We are particularly proud of the diversity among our attorneys, not only in their backgrounds but in their interests and viewpoints brought to the practice of law.  Our attorneys completed undergraduate work at over twenty-five different colleges and universities in nineteen states and the District of Columbia.  They received their law degrees from eighteen law schools, including, Arkansas, Columbia, Duke, Franklin Pierce, George Washington, Michigan, New Mexico, New York University, Ohio State, Oklahoma University, Oklahoma City University, Southern Methodist, Tennessee, Texas, University of Tulsa, University of San Francisco, Vanderbilt and Yale.

Our attorneys participate actively in bar and civic affairs.  Presently, they hold leadership positions in such organizations as The American Diabetes Association, The American Heart Association, The Tulsa County Bar Association, Tulsa Ballet Theatre, Theatre Tulsa, The Tulsa Public School Board, The United Way and United Way agencies and other public service organizations.  Additionally, several attorneys have served on the adjunct faculty at the Tulsa University law school and conduct Bar and CLE seminars.

We believe that Doerner Saunders offers a practice with all the hallmarks of a fulfilling legal career:  an abundance of challenging legal problems to develop lawyering skills, a constant call for creativity in fashioning remedies for clients, and a high degree of financial rewards, all in the collegial atmosphere of a 46-lawyer firm.  Moreover, the cities of Tulsa and Oklahoma City offer a very comfortable lifestyle for all.  We invite third year students seeking full-time employment and second year students seeking summer employment to direct their résumés to Charles S. Plumb, Esq., of our firm.  You may also wish to visit our website at www.dsda.com.
