S. Douglas Dodd Receives the Outstanding Service to the Public Award from the OBA
Mr. Dodd recently received the "Outstanding Service to the Public Award" presented by the Oklahoma Bar Association. He was nominated by his peers to receive this honor because of the significant amount of service to the Tulsa Community, especially in issues of public education. Dodd was a highly respected, hard-working, credible voice for the Tulsa School Board for 11 years, serving as president from 1994 - 1996. He has also served as chairman of the board of the American Diabetes Association and received the Dr. Charles H. Best Award from the organization. He has served on the boards of the Citizen CPR organization and the Foundation for Tulsa Schools, and as an elder in his church. In May, the TU Alumni Association presented Mr. Dodd with the inaugural W. Thomas Coffman Community Service Award for his extraordinary service promoting public education.
