Training for the Trenches Luncheon Series: Handling Employee Health Issues

This month’s Training for the Trenches topic, Handling Employee Health Issues, will be presented by Chris Thrutchley, SPHR, at the Tulsa Country Club on Wednesday, September 11  from 11:15 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.  The recent expansion of the Americans with Disabilities Act not only triggered an explosion in costly ADA-related litigation, but also creates increased administrative burden for management to properly and thoroughly address health-related accommodation issues.  But the impact doesn’t end there.  The ADA’s expansion also creates new and complex FMLA and workers’ comp challenges.  As if that weren’t enough, Oklahoma produced the first major GINA litigation settlement.  Needless to say, handling employee health issues has never been more challenging.

This informative and practical session will further equip you and your leaders to spot potential health-related legal issues in order to knowledgeably and effectively manage risk involving:

  • The Genetic Information Non-Discrimination Act (GINA)
  • The Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA)
  • The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)
  • The Administrative Workers’ Compensation Act
