In our April 1 ELR, we told you about relief provided by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to employers grappling with verifying identity and employment authorization documents during the pandemic. The ability to conduct remote inspections was set to expire on the earlier of May 19, 2020 or within three business days after the termination of the National Emergency.
These accommodations have now been extended for 30 days, or until June 18, 2020.
