April 1, 2015 is a milestone date for our firm. On this day fifty years ago, Sam P. Daniel joined our firm. Sam has become an Oklahoma legend in family law, including divorce, custody, guardianship, and property division issues. He has been a leading commercial litigator and banking lawyer as well. A named partner since his first day at the firm in 1965, Sam has dedicated his professional life to serving clients and has been a constant example of determination and integrity to all those who have worked with him.

Sam decided in the second grade that he wanted to be an attorney, after becoming friends with former Federal Judge A.P. Murrah’s son. He says from that early time he never thought about doing anything else. When reflecting on his career, Sam counts himself fortunate, stating, “I do what I love to do with the people I love to do it with. I like the give and take of solving people’s problems and I have found it satisfying even though it can be a battle.”

After serving as an officer in the United States Air Force, Sam graduated from the University of Oklahoma College of Law in 1959. He is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, a certified Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, and has been listed in The Best Lawyers In America® since 1983. A lifelong Tulsan and avid conservationist, Sam has long been involved with several local non-profit agencies, and was the recipient of the NatureWorks Wildlife Stewardship Award in 2014.
